Dee was raised in a small, quiet town. She felt safe and everyone thought they could trust most of the people around them. It didn’t take her long to realize that was all a preconception. In her own words, "I soon learned that bad things can happen to good girls, and it was my responsibility to make sure they didn’t happen to me." She was fortunate to have a strong family foundation and parents that instilled honesty and integrity in their daily lives. Her parents had their own retail store in which they sold hardware, housewares, sporting goods, and guns. When she wasn’t out running with her girlfriends, or at the swimming pool, she was helping them in the store. In the summer months, she would spend as much time as possible in the mountains and her dad would make sure she knew how to handle and shoot guns safely. He instilled in her a very strong attitude of safety and respect for guns.
Dee is now a Certified Instructor for the NRA, as well as a Certified Instructor for the Utah Concealed Firearm Permits. It is Dee's goal to educate others in the safe handling of firearms, and provide information on how one can stay safe and minimize the risk of becoming victimized.

Jim Snyder is a life-long hunter, gun and shooting enthusiast. He is an NRA certified instructor in both Basic Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home.
He moved to Indiana from Texas in 2010 and promptly got his Indiana license to carry. He had one for many years in Texas, where in order to receive one you have to attend an intensive day long course and pass a lengthy written test, as well as show your ability to operate and shoot the weapon you will carry. While applauding Indiana’s very liberal gun laws and licensing requirements he was also concerned that there was no real training or experience required.
Jim became an NRA Certified Instructor three years ago when he realized there was a real need for folks to know how to safely handle, operate and shoot their weapons of choice. In Jim's words:
I believe that there are many reasons for people to have and enjoy firearms. Recreation, hunting, competition, protection inside and outside the home, are just a few. I also believe that the vast majority of owners have never taken a lesson on how to safely operate those firearms, much less been taught the correct way to shoot and take care of them.
