Long Range (2 Day Course)

Time: 8 Hours total

Saturday 9am to Noon (Tim’s Shooting Academy)

Sunday 1pm to 5pm (Bass & Bucks located in Wabash, IN)

Cost: $250.00

This is an introduction class to long range rifle shooting. We will cover the basics of the operation of rifles, optics and accessories. We will discuss firing positions, trigger control, breathing, range etiquette and most importantly, safety.

Day 1: (Tim’s Shooting Academy of Westfield)

• We will start by understanding our ballistics. (rifle and ammo combination)

• We will discuss scopes and reticles

• How to range distances using your scope (math is involved)

• Angles and what they do to your calculations (more math)

• Understanding wind

• Discuss many more factors that can/will affect your bullet trajectory.

• Finally we will shoot a few rounds at 25 yards to make sure we are on paper

Day 2: (at Bass & Bucks in Wabash, IN)

• Start with soft/hard zero at 100 yards

• Hard zero at 200 yards

• Move to 300, 500 & 700 yards if conditions are good

• Spotting for someone else (giving/understanding commands)

What you need:

• 200 rounds of ammunition (Match grade, and correct for your rifle)

• Quality Rifle and Scope (MOA and MIL dot reticle preferred)

• Bipod or appropriate rifle rest

• Eye/Ear protection

• Water/Snack

• Note Taking Material

• Calculator

Optional Gear:

• Laser Range Finder

• Spotting Scope

• MilDot Master

• Clothing for the weather (we shoot rain or shine)

Cancellation policy:

You may reschedule a class up to one week before the date of the class, after that point you are locked into that class date. (no refunds, no rescheduling, some exceptions may apply)

A full refund is available if we cancel a class within 7 days of the class date for any

reason.
